What's your routine?
Updated: Apr 19, 2019
What are you doing to set your day up for success?
Have you ever felt stressed out or overwhelmed? Well, I have. On this week's vlog, I talk about overcoming struggle, stress, and the feeling of being completely overwhelmed. We're six weeks into the new year and I needed to step back, take a deep breath, and realize that I am not in this alone. Great news, neither are you! To me, it has been extremely important to not always focus on the large scale of things but to really slow down, enjoy the process, and be aware of all of the beautiful moments that are happening all around me. Tune in to hear more and feel free to share tips, pointers, and examples of how you overcome the feelings of being stressed.
“Because for me when I first got into recovery, getting into a routine or doing something ritually like every single day really helped me.”
Some of the things that I do:
Reading (what I'm reading right now)
Gratitude list (thanks, @msrachelhollis for Start Today journals)
Coffee ;) (Ruby Coffee)
Working out (app that I'm using)
Eliminating screen time
So much has changed for me since finding routines that work for me. Now, don't get me wrong, some days I don't get to all of these things and there's days where maybe I don't even do one. But, what I do know, is that when I skip I often feel out of sorts and not on track. It also took me a while to get to this place. I didn't find these ideas and develop these habits overnight. This has been a process. In fact, for me, having a good routine when I first found recovery was more about making sure I was taking a shower and brushing my teeth everyday. Then, it was making sure I was getting a good amount of sleep and taking care of my physical and mental health. After that I was able to start focusing on it on a deeper level and these are the things that I have found to work for me.
